Man, what an anti-burnout passage if there ever was one! I could get used to this Dostoevsky story time. The background music really helps you feel the romanticizing wonder of the monk's emotions. Makes me what to try and start that Bible study I've been putting off trying to start.
Right? While this is possibly the most scattered and forgettable section of The Russian Monk, it’s shinning quality is Zosima’s enthusiasm for Scripture, nature, and people. He actually says very little with all his words, but it’s how he says it for me. The romantic wonder can’t help but rub off on you.
